The America I Was Proud Of

Last night I watch the election results on TV and I was so disappointed in the American people re-electing President Obama. It is sad that this country and its populous are so misinformed. The president is a liar. He covered up the Libya scandal, which is a total outrage. His polices just are not working. How in the world is the answer to a recession is more taxes. The economy is going downhill and you are raising taxes. All the people in the country that think they are entitled to free/subsidized stuff is also an outrage. Plain and simple, IF YOU DON'T WORK FOR IT YOU DON'T GET IT. Why should I have to pay for something for someone else when they are too lazy to get it themselves. Take Obama Phone for example; that program started back with Reagan and was only meant for land lines for people who couldn't afford a phone in an emergency. It was President Clinton that expanded the program to cell phones in 1996. So I am not only paying for my cell phone, but yours as well. That is disgusting. YOU ARE ENTITLED TO NOTHING, NOBODY OWES YOU ANYTHING. This is/was the land of opportunity. Millions of people have come here and "made" a life for themselves. They made America what it was. They even died for it. Millions have died to protect what once was American freedom. I seriously think we are demonized around the world because everyone is jealous of what we have. And if they can't have it they will take us down with them. I really think that is the under lying issue and the heart of all this hate we see around the world for us. Also, why is it they can burn our flag and desecrate the Bible, but if we even hint in doing something to the Koran or one of their flags they are on us like white on rice. 

It is a very sad day for me today when I see the country my family has served going down the toilet with the rest of the world. My Grandpa Sheppard fought in WWII in the Pacific. Was decorated too. My Uncle Doug a Marine, My dad in the Army, My Uncle Jeff an MP in the Marines, My Uncle Scott in the US Air Force now severing Springfield, IL as a police officer for the Capitol Police Department. My cousin Craig a Marine, did at least one tour overseas. Thank God he is still with us. My heart breaks for this country and what it was built on and what it was built for. It was built on religious principles and a place to flee tyranny. It was set up as a free place where people made the country not the government. The government works for the people, not the people for the government. 

A couple days before the election President Obama said, "Vote for Revenge". Revenge from what? Do we not all live in this country together? Are we not all in the same boat? It feels like we are all in the Titanic and we are backing up to hit the iceberg again. We ARE all in this together and we ALL have to WORK to get out of this. President Obama's polices are putting us further in the hole. $20 trillion debt is just around the corner and it will be here before you know it. BHO spent his entire campaign bashing Mitt Romney and never really stated his second term agenda. I know we won’t know what he is going to do until his State of the Union speech in January (Which I will NOT be watching). Even so it will probably be full of more taxes and distribution on my money to people who are lazy and think they are entitled to it just for being here. The next 4 years will not get better. Gas prices will go up, and go up big. Food prices at the store will go up, etc etc. 

I need to get my mind off this subject. I'll talk at you later.

Human Rights and Equality

While I was reading some articles this morning on the web I came across one on FoxNews.com. The headline reads "Al Qaeda wonders why world  cares about Malala, teen shot by Taliban" Al Qaeda’s Pakistani spokesman, Ustad Ahmad Farooq, has issued a statement on the assassination attempt, wondering why people in Pakistan and around the world have made the girl a heroine. An excerpt from the letter, titled "Why Mourn Malala so Much?", it reads:

“Nobody spoke up for thousands of such Malalas who became victims of military operations, and nobody protested for them on the roads,” Farooq wrote. “But these circles made so much noise when we targeted this girl who made fun of jihad, the veil and other Islamic values on behest of the British Broadcasting Corporation. This attack created shockwaves in the ruling circles around the world. They issued a number of statements condemning the attack on Malala. I may ask why? Why is Malala's blood more important than those killed by the army?"

This is just a small excerpt from the letter and I don't know what else is in this communication. Let me answer the question. Why is world so concerned with what happened to Malala? The world is concerned because 1.) She is still a child. Children need to be given the best chance to be whatever they want to be in life. 2.) She is a girl and soon to be women. She is no less equal to a man. She is not a possession. She has the same equal right as a man. She wants to educate herself and fight for others that have less of a voice. She is standing up for women's right in a country that holds women to a lowered standard. I just don't understand why they would shot her in the first place. Well actually I do, the Taliban and others like them are monsters, terrorist, and men that want to instill fear into a population so they can control them. A government is not a government if it has no citizens. All these groups seek is to spread their hate and gain power through fear and violence. This is exactly what Mitt Romney was talking about last night in the debate. The US has to take the lead in getting the rest of the world to deflect radical extremists like the Taliban, Al Qaeda and Hezbollah. I know there are more groups out there, but they aren't worth the mention.

Plain and simple; shooting a child over an education is absolutely absurd. This has to stop. This is only one story. I'm sure this is going on all over the middle east without us knowing about it. Having two daughters myself, this breaks my heart. If someone did that to one of them I would flip out. This needs to stop.

Yet Another Voter ID Rant!!!!!

Here we go again!!!

I am reading a news feed on Comcast.net and I come across the headline “Judge halts Pa.’s tough new voter ID requirement.” SERIOUSLY? Democrats who said it a ploy to defeat President Obama and other opponents who said it would prevent the elderly and minorities from voting. I’m sorry, but if you can make to the store to buy food, booze, and cigs you can make it to the DMV to get a state issued ID; which for this year is free in Pa. All you need to prove to get it is have a utility document stating your address. That’s it. You get your picture taken and then they send it to you in the mail at the address you specified in 10-14 days. And if you don’t want to do that there is always the absentee ballot you can get. Cast your vote early and you don’t have to worry about it.

“Democrats objected furiously, accusing Republicans of using old-fashioned Jim Crow tactics to steal the White House from Obama by making it harder for young adults, the poor, minorities and the disabled to vote. Election workers will still be allowed to ask voters for a valid photo ID, but people without it can vote on a regular voting machine in the polling place and would not have to cast a provisional ballot or prove their identity to election officials after the election.”

The only group that appears to be trying to steal votes here are the Democrats. This entire thing screams of voter fraud. There is nothing stopping someone from voting at every polling location. You should be required to show a photo ID. You must prove who you say you are. This does not go against the Voting Rights Act of 1965. This is in addition to it. Minorities are able to get the proper paperwork to do things. The only thing that is hindering this is them. If they have the means to leave the house and get food and other things they can go and get an ID from the DMV. It’s that simple. This is a huge loss and a backwards step for voting laws in this country. There are 11 other states that have similar laws. Texas was already blocked, now Pa. I wonder how many states Mr. Holder will get to in the next 36 days to ensure Obama a win by fraud. He is not good for this country. I have said this before and I will say it again.

President Obama, your polices have failed, your foreign polices have failed, your administration has failed, and you are a failure. YOU’RE FIRED!!!! Pack your stuff and get out.

Lame-Duck Lawmakers

So I am at work yesterday and my phone sounds off that I have an alert. I look at the phone and the alert is Fox News. Apparently Congress has passed a stopgap budget bill 329-91. The bill is a $1 trillion dollar spending effort to avoid a government shutdown and the U.S. falling off the "fiscal cliff" as the article reads. The article also said that it should clear the Senate next week for President Obama's signature.

REALLY?????????????????? WHEN DOES THE SPENDING STOP AND THE CUTTING BEGIN??? The American economy cannot handle more spending. Throwing money after bad choices and programs is not the solution to our crisis. We need to cut spending in the right places and put people back to work. There are 20,000 shovel ready jobs just waiting for the go ahead in the plains states on the Keystone pipeline. But our jerk of a president won't let us do it. There are plenty of road construction jobs that also need to be completed. Not just in Michigan, but all the bridges built in the 50's 60's around the country all need to be repaired or replaced. We have approx 48,000 miles of interstate road ways in the U.S. There are 600,000 bridges on those highways. 200,000 of them are 50 or more years old, that is 33% that need to be fixed. It takes on average 25 workers to replace a bridge. The is 5,000,000 jobs plus the 20,000 for the oil pipeline for a total of 5,020,000 new jobs almost overnight. According to a 2009 FHWA stat it would cost $70.9 billion to fix all the bridges in the country that are classified "structurally deficient". So let’s do the math if this "stopgap" bill was used to actually employ people.

     $1,047,000,000,000 - Stopgap bill passed

-        $70,900,000,000 - Cost of bridge replacement

-      $208,832,000,000 - Workers wage for bridge construction ($20 per hour, based on 40 hours)

-          $1,600,000,000 - Aid going to Egypt

I really wonder where would the rest of this money go? Who cares if the government shuts down. They don’t do anything anyway expect spend more and more money. It seems like the administration is more concerned about our image overseas than our real problems here at home. If Obama is so concerned and committing to get people back to work I just gave him a way to employ the 800,000 that are out of work, plus about 4.2 million more. Obama, you say you want to raise taxes to get more money coming in? How about fixing the jobless rate. Once that is fixed you will have plenty of money coming in. Not just from payroll taxes, but from people spending the money they are making. People aren't spending as much because they do not have enough to spend. SOCIALISM DOESN'T WORK. How about going after the 50% of Americans that do not pay taxes or the almost $3 billion the IRS paid out in fraudulent returns in 2011. So far Mr. President your policies have FAILED. You have FAILED. Your administrations has FAILED. 3 strikes and you're out.

Seriously Massachusetts????

     So I wake up this morning to hear a news story on Fox 2. The story featured convicted murderer Michelle Kosilek born Robert Kosilek. He is a trans-gendered inmate convicted of murdering his wife in 1990. U.S. District Judge Mark Wolf ruled Tuesday ordering the Massachusetts prison officials to provide gender-reassignment surgery because it is the only way to treat Kosilek's "serious medical need" at the taxpayers’ expense. This surgery can cost upwards of $20,000. The judge ordered the surgery as a remedy to his gender-identity disorder.

 Seriously, gender-identity disorder. Judge Wolf you are an idiot. How in the world can make taxpayers pay for this surgery when insurance companies won't even pay for it because they deem it as an elective. You have got to be kidding me. That is the dumbest disorder I have heard of to date. This is not a violation of his 8th amendment right to fair and equal medical care. His health is good. The 8th amendment is there so you can get fair and equal treatment if you have a serious medical or life threatening condition. Having a sex change is not live threatening if you don't get it done. I cannot believe the state of this country. Where is the integrity that people have died to protect.

WHAT??? Cruel and unusual punishment. WHAT ABOUT THE CRIME YOU COMMITTED TO GET PUT IN PRISON IN THE FIRST PLACE????? As far as I'm concerned when you get convicted of serious crime like murder, rape, armed robbery, anything that requires significant prison time you give up some of your rights until you serve your time. There are just certain things you shouldn't get. You are there for a punishment. I love hearing and reading stories about the prison in Arizona where they live outside in tents and wear pink stripped clothing. That's the way it should be. I could go on forever, but I need to get back work now.

Candidates Releasing Tax Information - RANT!!!!!!! Among other things!!!!

So yesterday I was reading an article on foxnews.com. It stated that the Obama camp wanted Mitt Romney to release 5 years of tax returns. Today Romney refused to. Good for him. His taxes are his business. Who cares if he only pays 1%, it's still something. 50% of the people that live in this country don't pay taxes at all. 1% of $21,000,000 is still $210,000. There are bigger issues in the election than Mitt Romney's tax returns.

The issues that are important to me are as follows:

Obamacare - Needs to be repealed. This just has BAD written all over it. The only thing I like about it is the law about pre-existing conditions. Other than that it IS a tax on the rest of us. Beside, Obama came up with this program so that 30 million Americans can have health care. Really??? That's only 10% of the country. What about the other 90%. Why should 90% of the country have to provide something for the other 10%. I understand that people fall on hard times, but it is NOT the governments job to support you. The only things that can help you get back on your feet is God and yourself. Make your problems yours, not someone else's. Example: Lady in Tampa, FL; Angel Adams has 15 kids. 12 of which live with her. She said, and I quote " Someone needs to pay for my kids and pay me because the system failed me." If you don't believe me watch the video on YouTube. Search for "someone needs to pay for my kids". It should be the first option.

Immigration - The DREAM act. What a joke. If you are here illegally you must go through the proper channels to become a citizen. If not, GET OUT!!!!! Also, we speak English here. Learn it or leave. It angers me when I drive home and see a sign totally in another language without translation. If I can't read the sign or billboard in my own country it should be taken down.

Voter I.D. Laws - Minor victory in Pennsylvania this week where the voter I.D. law was upheld by a Commonwealth Court Judge. Props to the judge who saw it as what it was. Protecting the system against voter fraud and not trying to stop people from voting. U.S. Citizens - 1, Eric Holder and the DOJ - 0. But we still need to here verdicts in Texas, Arizona, New York, and Virginia. Let’s hope all those are upheld. I was watching Hannity last night and they were talking about this very subject. He had a women on that said, :This fight isn't over. We need to stop these types of laws so people can vote." She also said that the people this law affects can't always show an I.D. or get to the polling places. HELLO, that is what absentee ballots are for. Anyone can get them.

Balanced Budget Plan - Thanks to Mr. Harry Reid we haven't had a balanced budget plan in Congress since 2008. 2008 really??? What in the world have you been doing? Oh yeah I know........NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!! Mr. Reid, how you won your election in 2010 is beyond me. I went to bed and you were down by a lot. I wake up and you win by a lot. Sounds kind of fishy to me. Don't even get me started on Pelosi. Someone needs to get this spending under control. This is outrageous. We are borrowing .33 cents of every dollar we spend from China. You know I laughed a little when I saw joke on Facebook about our Olympians winning gold medals and they we should just hand them over to China. Now that I'm thinking about that is not right. Those people earned those. This country is just so messed up.

WAKE UP DETROIT!!!!!!

Yet another venting alert!!!! BEWARE!!!!

Good morning Detroit! Let me start out by saying, Nice Job! Nice job at killing an entire city. Back in the 60's you had over 1,000,000 people in the city. Now you have less than 700,000. People have been leaving the city in droves since the early 1990's. With all the corruption in the city and in Wayne county do you really think you can save your city without outside help. To put it bluntly, when you fail, not if, but when you fail it will fall on the rest of the state to bail out the city. NEWS FLASH - Detroit's problems are Detroit's problems, not the rest of the state's.

The most recent story in the news is about the Detroit Water Department. Apparently an independent firm came to evaluate you. You currently have 1,982 employees in 275 different departments. This investigation firm says you can function with 375 employee in 33 departments saving $140 million dollars annually. AND YOU ARE RAISING WATER RATES???????? WHAT????? Trim some of the fat and become operationally functional and self supportive. You have 6 times the employees you need to operate. This is just one more reason that unions should go. Unions are worthless. They had their time and place and are now worthless. Unions were setup to help the workers get equal pay, better working conditions and other things. There is no need for unions. They just enable lazy people and their lazy habits. Yup, I said it!!!! I am by no means calling everyone in a union lazy.

Another story in the news is Belle Isle. Gov. Snyder wants to lease, key word is "lease", it from Detroit for 99 years. Turn it into a state park and charge people to go there. The fees would go towards the maintenance and security of the island. Leasing Belle Isle from Detroit would benefit everyone. Detroit won't lose one of their "jewels", the state would gain a state park for everyone to enjoy, and Detroit would make some annual cash on the lease. It's a win/win right? WRONG!!!! Hands off our island is in protest because they think whitey is taking one of Detroit's jewels. WHAT!!!! Are you kidding me???? The grass is 4 feet tall, the bathrooms are trashed, the toilets don't work, the zoo is closed, the aquarium is closed, that flower house thingy is closed and there is trash everywhere. That's a jewel????? It was, but it certainly isn't anymore. GIVE IT UP ALREADY!!!!!!!

I remember going there as a kid on field trips for school. You could also count on the Grand Prix being there every year. Why would someone like Roger Penske want to bring a high profile race to Detroit if the island is a mess. If Detroiters are so proud of their city, do something about it. I feel really bad for Mayor Bing. City Council needs to go and get real jobs. Charles Puge, you're the biggest joke of them all.

Don't even get me started on the Wayne County Commissioner.

Chick-fil-A Rant!!!!

Venting Alert!!!!!

Chick-fil-A, what an establishment they are. Props to them for standing up for their morals and values and saying that they believe a marriage should be between one man and one woman. As I was reading some articles online I was seeing the backlash from that statement. What happened to our right to freedom of speech? Seriously? How is it that the people or groups that speak on behalf of gays everywhere can say anything they want to and when someone stands up for something they believe in they get backlash for it. The mayors of Chicago and Boston are the bigots here for refusing Chick-fil-A from opening any new businesses. That is unconstitutional and un-American. How can a mayor stop a business from opening new locations within city limits? That is outrageous. And all these people say they are anti-gay and refusing service to people. They aren't doing that. They don't refuse anyone. They simply stated their moral believe in what marriage should be. THAT'S IT!!!

I was talking to my beautiful wife this morning. She went to Toledo yesterday to support Chick-fil-A. She posted on Facebook a photo of her waiting in line to get food with our two beautiful daughters. Some of the comments on the photo were just plain ignorant. How can you be a Christian and support gay marriage? It goes against everything the bible stands for. Yes God hates the sin and loves the sinner, and we should do the same. I believe in equality, but do not support the lifestyle. Actually is disgusts me to my core. Do I hate the person I do not agree with?. No, it's their choice to live whatever lifestyle they want. God will judge them in the end. The only thing I can do is love them and lead by example and pray for them to see Him as their savior and change their ways. I'm not forcing my beliefs or religion on them, but they sure are shoving their lifestyle in my face and I do not like it. The people that live this lifestyle is only 5% of the American population, but they seem to have the loudest voice. It is time for our to be heard as well. We need to stand up for what we believe in America against this moral destruction.

Now my beautiful wife is telling me she is reading that the gay community is forming their own protest at Chick-fil-A tomorrow. They plan on going into the restaurants, not buy anything, but stand there and kiss in front of everyone hoping to drive away business. WHAT!!!!! You have to be kidding me. That is absolutely stupid. CHICK-FIL-A IS NOT REFUSING YOUR BUSINESS AT ALL!!!!! They are stating where they stand. Why do people feel the need to do this? It is a waste of time for everyone. Gay right are not being challenged here. Nothing is being challenged. Chick-fil-A is not the government. They can't and aren't infringing on any right you think you have. They are just trying to make a buck by selling chicken.

To Chick-fil-a - Please consider opening a business in the downriver Detroit area. I know there are a lot of people that would support your business here.

I just don't know what else to say about this. I am just so angered by all of this. I'm ready to fight for what I believe in. BRING IT ON!!!!!

Voter I.D. Laws

VENTING ALERT!!!!! I just need to get a few things off my chest here. Instead of going crazy with my thoughts I thought I would just write them down and publish them. I've been getting into politics over the past few months and educating myself on how the systems should work. Much to my dismay, they do not work, for legal citizens most of the time. It seems every time I turn around the Department of Justice and Eric Holder are doing everything they possibly can to destroy us. What is this nation coming too? Seriously?

The DOJ and Eric Holder have hit a real hot button with me. The Voter I.D. laws that are designed to protect the honest voters are being challenged because civil rights group say, and I quote, "civil rights groups argue the legislation makes it too difficult for the general public to vote.", "The Justice Department requested data on the state’s registered voters in an effort to analyze whether those who lack the proper identification are disproportionately minorities." (Source: FoxNews.com story on the PA Voter I.D. Law). So what if they are minorities. They should follow the same rules as everyone else. If they can get to the polls on voting day, then they can get the DMV to get a state issues photo I.D. They have 2 years to do it in most states. And it's not like it cost an arm and a leg. It's $12 to get a MI state issued I.D. that is not a driver's license. It has your address, date of birth, full birth name (If you gave them your legal name), and a photo of you. The DVM has many offices to accommodate your location.

Let me ask Mr Holder a question. Why should we not have to prove who we are? What would stop me from going to another county or voting location and vote under a different name? What would stop me from going to another state and doing the same thing? Sounds like voter fraud to me. How about you? Let me answer that for you. YOU DON'T CARE!!!! All you care about is getting votes for that so called president in office even if they are fraudulant. That is a disgrace. You should be ashamed of yourself. Sounds to me like you are a socialist. Sounds to me like you are trying to "fix" the system. And I don't mean fix it in the sense that you think it’s broken. I mean fix as in rig.

Mr. Holder let me let you in on what appears to be a secret to you. Echoing the language of the 15th Amendment, the 1965 Voting Rights Act prohibits states from imposing any "voting qualification or prerequisite to voting, or standard, practice, or procedure ... to deny or abridge the right of any citizen of the United States to vote on account of race or color. The key words in that statement are RACE and COLOR. The new voter I.D. laws passed in 11 states in 2010 require you to show a photo I.D. not because of your color or race, but to prove you are who you say you are. Bottom line, this should be allowed and required in every state.
