If you can't tell already music is a huge part of my life. I am a worshiper at heart. I love it. I can't get enough of it. It is so easy for me to meet God that way. Most of the time during church services just the band warming up in the morning gets me to that place I know so well. The pressence of God. It's a wonderful place to be. On my ride into work this morning I was playing a song from Building 429. It goes like this.
I've been so busy, I missed the reasons
I missed Your love, and I nearly missed it all
Still You love me and You've healed me
You've given all and it brought me to Your cross
I stand only because You've given me grace to walk
Only because
You carried me
You carried me
You carried me through it all
And I believe
Yes I believe
You'll carry me all the way home
Cause mercy covers all
I know the scripture, I've known the songs
I sang the words from my hollowed heart
But You've spoken softly through the storm
I've heard Your voice and I've felt the calm
I stand only because You've given me faith to walk
You carried me
You carried me
You carried me through it all
And I believe
Yes I believe
You'll carry me all the way home
Cause mercy covers all
I know that you love me
I'll never doubt it I can't live without it
Your mercy has found me
I am astounded, I can't live without it
(22) "It is through the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. (23) They are new every morning; great is Thy faithfulness. (24)"The LORD is my portion," saith my soul, "Therefore will I hope in Him." - Lamentations 3:22-24 (NKJ)
Mercy: compassion or forbearance shown especially to an offender or to one subject to one's power.
The words in this song really say it all. God's merices cover all and He will carry you though it, just ask Him. Proof: I was talking to a high school friend of mine last night. I haven't seen or spoken to him since about 1994ish. He was explaining to me that he battled with drinking for the past 13 years. He said 4 month ago that he asked God to help him stop. He said he hasn't touch a drink in 4 months. Has his journey being sober been easy. I'm not sure, but I can imagine it hasn't been. The flesh is a hard thing to tame. I do hope I get to speak to him some more and witness to him. I'm not the most outgoing person when it comes to spreading the word of God to others. I'm just not real comfortable talking face to face. Chatting online or blogging about it is totally different. I hope someone is getting something out of all these posts. Thank you for taking the time to read them.
Until next time!
B
